Sail away

Yesterday morning was extremely boring. I was first planning to go shopping someplace with good air conditioning systems (thinking of the Makati malls). So I SMSed some friends and none wanted to go. Anywhoo, my good friend Bons came to the rescue inviting me to go with her in Batangas for the floating bookstore.

So I went and oh god… the weather was hot. But we were still clamoring for fabulousity despite the heat. But when we arrived at the ship we were all shocked and appalled! Nobody told us it was gonna be a Christian bookstore. There was even a whole section of Bibles. By that time I was melting. But despite the disappointment the whole trip was still fun. We took great pictures of ourselves. Camwhoring is what we do best. Enjoy the pictionary!

Lookie lookie at me! Fab isn't it? Ahoy!

Love me!

Going down this stair was work!

Ummm... yeah.

Today Bons and moi met up again. We went to a proper bookstore here in Elbi. I bought a cool new book Josie and Jack and I'm excited to read it.

Well I guess that's it for now. Be fabulous!

XOXO

P.S. You have got to listen to this track from electronica princess Annie. Heartbeat was my ultimate fave song last year. Beyond brilliant ya'll. Listen!

The fair, mum and DJ Mo

Today was uneventful. Just watched Battlestar Galactica on DVD and it is beyond brilliant ya'll. I totally love it. It is way better than Star Wars and Star Trek combined. So that means that I've been procrastinating again. Sundays are dragging.

Last week was the Feb fair. The university grounds were filled of tents with drunk college kids in them. The fair in general was ok. In fact, it was the best of all the fairs I've attended. I got to meet DJ Mo at the fair. He's from Studio 23 and Magic 89.9 and I love him. I started listening to his rants on the radio last week. He's a D-list celebrity who pokes fun at being a celebrity. Hmmm... sounds like a male kathy Griffith.

W/ DJ Mo.

At the fair.

Further back on the timeline, mum came to visit Kat and me last weekend. We did a bit of shopping. Well, all we did was shop. 'Twas really fun. I missed her so much.

Moi and Kat

If you must know, mother is the ultimate shopping companion here in the metro. She'll give me almost everything that I'll point at. Being with her at SM's beauty section would be like heaven. My lovely sister of course did not hesitate to take advantage. Haha.

She's back at home now.

Oh. And she gave me a new phone. Really cool. Couldn't stop staring at it thinking how fucking cool I'll look when I video call someone (most probably her). Anyway, enjoy the pictionary! Camwhores!

Back, indefinitely

I couldn't even begin to tell how deeply saddened I am that I've been unable to update this stupid blog. Well, it's my baby and I love it. So, in desperation, I am writing this non sense post just to make up. hehe. I've been looking at some of my favorite blogs and a number of them already closed. Wouldn't want that to happen here because fuck Socrates! What with the advent of Big Brother, an undocumented life is totally not worth living. Crazy you might think but it is very true. Blame it on my wanting to matter in this fame crazed universe.

For the past month I've been trying to live up to my being a pop culture whore. I was on a shopping spree in Makati. Bought eight books from David Sedaris, Melissa de la Cruz, Tom Perrotts and Jaime Clarke (don't you just love bargain sales at Powerbooks?). Got that album by pop gods Lo-Fi-Fnk from Sweden.  Illegally downloaded tunes by Cut Copy, Shiny Toy Guns, Lilly Allen, Amy Winehouse and The Presets. Got dressed up like Hedi Slimane on my creative shot for my graduation photos. Had an encounter with two under aged fuggly hookers. So basically, my life was still interesting. Couldn't be more happier.

So right now, I'm totally into watching Ugly Betty (which is a tres fantastic sitcom). Speaking of fugglies, I'm totally in dire need of a new wardrobe. The neo futuristic takes of Balenciaga, D&G, and LV inspired me. Of course, I couldn't afford anything from those labels but I would kill for those metallic skinny pants from Balenciaga. Maybe they are too avant garde for this third world country but I fucking want foiled T-shirts and PVC totes! Maybe I'll just wait for local designers to copy them. haha.

Oh! I forgot to brag to ya'll that I'll be having a new phone next week. Mum will come visit and buy me one. I was totally over with Motorola so I'll be sticking to Nokia. I'll be having their latest in 3G phones. It's 6280, I think (not really sure with the numbers). Now, all I need is a mini 1gb memory card for all my photos, mp3s and porn. Yay! Moi is so fucking excited.

It's already Sunday and I'm still procrastinating. So I leave you with amazing pictures from Humo Magazine, shot by Kurt Stallaert. Tata for now.

Fabulous!

After the break
Note: This is an extremely boring post. I'm writing this because I have nothing else better to do. This by the way is a narrative of what happened to moi last Xmas break and some totally irrelevant random thoughts. It's all pretty boring so don't bother reading. But if you're one of my stalkers then please go ahead.

My place now resembles that of a pig pen. Total mess. Just got back in elbi last Tuesday. The flight back was uneventful like the last time but still had turbulence every fucking 5 minutes.

Life back in elbi is the same as usual. I'm kinda busy with writing a book. It's kinda boring here actually. And boredom to me is extravagance. Went shopping today and moi got a new shirt and some pirated DVDs. Already promised a thousand times to stop my impulse buying but I just couldn't stop. Mum and Kat already lectured me last Christmas but here I am again.

The break was good. I particularly loved that dad finally agreed to having a Mastercard. And to celebrate I helped him have his first purchase by buying me stuffs! I just hope that he wouldn't let mum use it since I know her too well. She's 5 times of an impulse buyer than me.

So anyway, Christmas was good. I got to cook pasta. This I really miss since I was always the cook in the family. But my pasta was a disaster. It turned out to be too sour. I just told them it's Italian.

My dad is pretty popular since he's the VP of the local university in my town. So we got free stuffs. Coca Cola gave us cans upon cans of coke. Some gave fruits but mostly they gave cakes. I can't believe how many cakes we had that time.

Also met up with my high school friends. They're all grown up now. They got like big cars and girlfriends. It was weird seeing them again. They all told me how much I've changed. I'm a chameleon that's what I told them. But whatevs. I'm still me. Fucked up as ever.

Now, I'm here alone in my tiny shit hole of an apartment. Just finished watching Whole New Thing which was kind of brilliant actually. I recommend everyone to watch it. Was feeling artsy fartsy today and decided to do some mean graffiti. But I realized I hate hip hop. Maybe rip up my copy of Artforum and paste it all over the walls. I already did that but what I'm thinking is total overhaul. Like the whole place be covered in Nylon, Vogue, Tank and Flaunt. That would be nice.

God, fuck mosquitoes. Just got bitten. Argh! There is an infestation here. They are fucking everywhere. Should maybe buy those scented katols I saw at Greenhills. Speaking of that place, I'm dying to buy a new Lesportsac man bag that has a very unmanly print. Love!

Shortbus

OMG! This is undeniably the best movie I've seen in ages! Well, apart from Brokeback Mountain, of course. This flick is fucking brilliant ya'll! Obviously, it's not for everyone but if you're an adventurous little fucker then this you have to see.

The whole thing is intoxicating. It is so refreshing to see a film that is not afraid of sex and genital shots. Hehe. And the soundtrack… oh my… is beyond brilliant. This should not be missed. If you can't find it in your fave pirate store give me a holler. ;)

brownout

My day is fucked. There is no electricity today so fuck you Meralco. I was kinda hoping to have my very own private film fest at home. My good friend Carl, gave me hard-to-find flicks for Xmas and I can’t even watch them. Urgh!

But I had a great time yesterday. Was with Bons, Ja and Carl. We already signed the contract for the book project. Then we hang at Freedom park. I’ll miss those moments.

So tomorrow I’ll be on my way to the metro. Be staying at Louie’s condo. My flight will be this Saturday. So excited. Mum promised me a shopping spree (funded by her of course). I’m also psyched with my new set of Calvin Klein perfumes. Can’t wait.

Now a writer

Yey! Congratulations to us. The book project is a done deal. Contract signing will be next week. God, I'm so excited with getting my moolah. hehe. Greenbelt was same as ever: totally snobbish and pretentious. Although I really love that place, I'm not liking the fact that I can't afford even a pair of jeans there. Sheesh. So we ate at The Kitchen. The food was surprisingly affordable. Bons, of course recommended it.

After lunch we took a cab to Power Plant, another snobbish mall. It's nice looking at expensive things. The experience was kinda cathartic. hehe. But I will certainly be back here after the Xmas break when my allowance will come. I spotted a really cool messanger bag at Topman, a kick ass shirt from People are People, wallet from Team Manila and Pumas at Shoe Salon. God, I'm wetting myself just thinking.

From class to crass, we went to the Makati Cinema Square. The place was balmy and a bit dirty but it was piracy heaven. I've never seen so many discs ever! Got myself new CDs that I've been meaning to buy at a regular record store. Everything you see in Tower Records is practically there. It was amazing.

I went home tired but happy. Upon reaching Elbi, I immediately went to my org's Xmas party. I had so much fun with them. We exchanged gifts and everything. Eric got me a plastic hanger and a little chair. Haha. I was the only one who received a gift that was actually useful.

So I finally watched the movie. Thanks to Carl. What do I think? Hmmm… Well, it's not bad. Actually, it's kinda brilliant in all sorts of way. I particularly liked the music which was 80s rock. The whole flick was a visual feast! Watch it for the costumes alone. Kirsten was adorable and so was the rest of the cast. Watch it.

interview

Tomorrow is my interview. I'm scared shitless. I shouldn't be. Bons reassured me. It'll be a group meeting with the big boss. We'll be at Starbuck's in Greenbelt so I bet it'll be an informal thing. Gosh. I'm still debating with myself on what to wear. More importantly, my resume is still not printed! Fuck.

Whatevs.

Everything will be fine tomorrow. I'll just enjoy myself and try not to think about the money that they're offering. What I'm most scared about is working with the project itself. I'm just glad that I'm with my good friends.

Job
Moi now has a job. My good friend Bons invited me to be a co-author of a series of books. So excited with the project. Will be at Greenbelt this Saturday for the interview. Hopefully, everything goes well. The money they're offering is hard to resist. I need more moolah to finance all my addictions. Hehe. I mean, gosh! I will be an author. Of a book. A fucking book! Haha.
